LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Residents in the City of Little Rock had the opportunity to meet the first of three finalists competing to be the next police chief for the capital city.

The city is hosting three public meet-and-greets with the finalists; Thursday's event featured current LRPD Assistant Chief Eric Higgins, who is in the running for the Chief position.

The other events will take place on May 12 and May 15, when the public can meet the other two candidates.

  • May 12 - Kenton Buckner, Assistant Chief of Police, Louisville Metro Police Department, Louisville KY
  • May 15 - John Ray, Executive Chief Deputy, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, Fort Worth TX

Each of these public receptions will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Centre at University Park, located at 6401 West 12th Street. These public functions will include an opportunity to visit informally with the candidates. In addition, there will be a presentation where the candidate will have a chance to make opening remarks before answering questions from the citizens present.
