LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Tuition will see a spike next fall at University of Arkansas campuses throughout the state.
The school system's board of trustees approved a tuition increase Wednesday along with budgets that allow 2% merit increases for faculty.
The Fort Smith campus will see the largest jump in price with a 6% increase. Fayetteville will see the second highest jump at 5%.
U of A says that the rise in cost is because of reductions in state funding and rising utility costs.
The plan will go into effect for the 2014 - 2015 school year.
