LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A 76-year-old man was transported to a hospital after being hit while jogging Monday morning in a Little Rock neighborhood. The driver of the vehicle that hit him reportedly left the scene.

Lt. Sidney Allen said the 76-year-old jogger, Barry Livingston, left his home on the 200 block of Auburn Drive for a morning run before 6 a.m. Another runner found him shortly after, unconscious and suffering from injuries consistent with being hit by a motor vehicle on N. Hughes Street just north of Amherst Cove.

Livingston was taken to a local hospital with an apparent head wound and a broken leg, but officials with St. Vincent said Wednesday that he has since passed away.

Police are asking for the public's assistance. Any walkers, runners, or drivers in the area that may have seen a vehicle leaving the area is encouraged to call the police at (501) 918-5105.

Lt. Allen said that the possible suspect could face manslaughter or negligent homicide depending on the circumstances.
