Former Super Bowl champion coach Tony Dungy is facing backlash after making a comment about Rams player Michael Sam.
The former coach told the Tampa Tribune that he would not have drafted Sam because he wouldn't want to deal with the attention he gets for being the first openly gay player in the NFL.
A pioneer himself, Dungy was the first African American head coach to win a Super Bowl, but since his comments, the social media backlash has been huge.
Dungy has not commented on the controversy since the interview was published.

The Saginaw County Sheriff is swapping the orange for jumpsuits with black and white stripes because he doesn't want inmates to think wearing the suits are "cool."
While many agree with the sheriff's decision, some feel like the new colors are demeaning for the inmates.
He says that if inmates don't like the clothes he gives them, then they shouldn't come back.
