ALTUS, Ark. (KTHV) – On Friday, THV11's Macy Jenkins met with Andrew Post at Post Familie Vineyard.

He is a 5th generation wine maker, and he filled us in on everything that goes in to making a great batch of wine.

"We actually use about 30 different kinds of grapes here but we produce about 50 different labels."

At Post Familie Vineyard, they make everything from Chardonnay to Moscato to the concord wine they're making right now.

"We dump a case at a time on the track and then it brings it down into a single file so that we can fill the bottles one at a time."

They make sure they're clean and fiber free, and now it's wine time.

"The wine starts dropping in and it magically knows when to stop. Next, a drop of liquid nitrogen in each bottle to force out all of the oxygen. This might be the coolest part!"

Post says a cap seals out 100 percent of the oxygen, but a cork allows air to slowly seep in over time.

A machine puts the labels on the bottles, then they stick it in a box and that's a wrap.

Tangled between the vines that weave their way through Altus is a history that's almost as rich as the wine they produce. Post distributes to Mississippi, Missouri, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Their main goal is to serve Arkansans, because after all, this is home.
