LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - On Sunday, Little Rock members of the Southern Legislative Conference (SLC) took time from their meetings to pack meals for the hungry, and the lawmakers were not the only ones helping out.
"The thing that's so wonderful about this is that it works on so many levels. To see legislators filling meals standing next to Boy Scouts is a wonderful, wonderful thing," said State senator Keith Ingram, D – State Senate Minority Leader.
The whole project is part of the Mark Norris Campaign Against Hunger: http://on.kthv.com/1mTnM8Z
Leaders of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance said they filled 50,000 meal packs. They will be distributed to food pantries and aid organizations throughout the state.
