CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Faulkner County is looking to long-term recovery with the help of workshops.

The Church World Service organization hosted close to 70 local community leaders on Tuesday. They are wanting to help long-term recovery in central Arkansas after April's tornado.

Janice Mann with Arkansas United Methodist says the workshop covered disaster case management, needs assessment, volunteer and construction management, and emotion and spiritual care.

"It's been a learning experience but it's been an awesome thing to see everybody coming together to get the job done."

Mann says there will be another two-day workshop training volunteers who will be in the field helping survivors. A date hasn't been released.
