MAYFLOWER, Ark. (KTHV) – Many people have turned out for a vigil in honor of a Mayflower High School Student who died suddenly over the weekend with no explained cause.
Sixteen-year-old Jordan Cooper died Sunday. His family said he had a history of migraines, and they're still waiting on autopsy results to find out what happened to their son.
A vigil was held at the school's gym Wednesday night in Cooper's honor, where associate pastor Eric Gunselman was asked to speak.
"You need to not go into isolation, you need to have people around you, reach out to your friends and family and be together, but most importantly you need to reach out to God," he told the crowd.
Per the Mayflower Eagles Football Facebook page, Funeral services will be held for Cooper Sat., Aug. 2 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at all First Security Bank Branches to help with expenses.
