LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The managers at one local wireless company combined team-building with charity Friday.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Arkansas is teaming up with volunteers from the customer service center of Verizon Wireless. The idea? To get a bunch of donated bikes assembled quickly, so that they can go to needy kids in Central Arkansas.
"There's a team competition between the leadership team to complete a scavenger hunt with tools for schools as well as see who can put the bike together first," said Karen Cayea, director of the Verizon Wireless Customer Service Center.
Those tools-for-schools are among the supplies the volunteers gathered ahead of school, which is starting in a little more than a week.
