NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- On August 14, 2013, a 31-year-old mother who was driving with her baby in the backseat fell victim to a drive-by shooting on McCain Blvd.
Police said Samantha Cass Olson wrecked her vehicle after the shots were fired. She was taken to UAMS where she later died. Her child, who was just under 1-year-old at the time, was not injured in the incident.
Throughout the year, North Little Rock police said they've been working to develop a suspect but have come up short. While they continue to investigate, Olson's family wait for answers.
THV11 spoke with Olson's mother, Phyllis Vontungeln, in Pine Bluff who said she is just taking things "day by day." See her interview:
