LITTLE ROCK, Ark. − More than 125 volunteers gathered at Scott's Melons and More to glean watermelon at the 4th Annual Watermelon Crawl, an event of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance and Arkansas Gleaning Project.

At the end of the day, volunteers had gleaned 43,418 pounds of melons, which they loaded into trucks for distribution to food banks, food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters across Arkansas.

In addition to breakfast and lunch provided by Performance Food service, the day also included watermelon-themed games.
