LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Three men were taken into custody on Sunday, Aug. 31 in an incident in which one of the suspects pointed a gun at two unnamed children.
Police reported that while patrolling the area of 16th and Chester streets at approximately 5:13 p.m., they saw a passenger in a white car stick a gun out the window and point it towards two children between eight and 12-years-old. When the officer turned on his siren, the men in the car fled towards Philander Smith College.
The report says the suspects then exited the car and fled on foot and entered a dormitory on campus. Once police reached the dorm, they were able to arrest all three men without incident. The first suspect, Clinton Burrell, 22, was charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, careless driving, and fleeing. He was also reported as the driver in the incident.
The second suspect, according to the report, was Emory Craig, 23. Craig was identified as the suspect who pointed the gun out the car window. He was charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds and fleeing.
A third suspect was reportedly issued a citation for fleeing.
The gun was recovered and released to the crime scene.
