LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) – On Tuesday, a school board meeting was held in Lonoke for a public hearing regarding a teacher's inappropriate behavior.
Mr. Boaz Cotton was terminated after allegedly touching a student's face, using profanity in front of students, and having lunch with students after being warned not to.
The board also found that he engaged in conduct that adversely reflects upon the integrity of the school district and its instructional staff. In October, they say he showed an inappropriate video in the classroom, and in August, they say he held a female student's hand and scared her by "invading her space."
In the meeting, several students and colleagues spoke on his behalf showing support.
The Lonoke School board upheld the recommendation of the superintendent to terminate Boaz Cotton.
