JESSIEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) – In a rare Saturday night school committee meeting, the Jessieville superintendent has offered his resignation.
Leaders at the Jessieville School District were meeting three days after superintendent, Andy Curry, was arrested for a DWI in Texas while he was on vacation.
Following Curry's resignation, other members of the board are now planning to step down. His resignation will be voted on when the board meets again Mon., Aug.11.
"I think it would be a beautiful thing if we as a community took all that energy and instead worked for our kids instead of hurting each other," said Sonya Eisenhaur, school board president.

Curry had also faced pressure to step down this past winter, amid accusations he acted unprofessionally and that he bullied others off the job. Curry has denied those allegations and said disgruntled former employees are behind the dispute.
