LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A special group started a week-long session Sunday. Forty-five girls and teens headed to Camp iRock, a program started to fight childhood obesity in Arkansas.
"The entire week, they're going to be doing physical activity, nutrition education, team building, self-confidence...just a whole array of things," described manager Chantel Tucker.
The camp goers will be part of some sort of physical activity every day as well as taking classes on eating right, with guest speakers all week long. To follow-up, this same group will meet back up in November for a shorter program to evaluate how they're doing.
Our state is 12th in the nation when it comes to overweight kids, with girls being the majority in that group.
