LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A woman is in police custody after allegedly killing her father Monday night.

Michelle Hill with Little Rock police said officers were dispatched to the Valero Gas Station on Colonel Glenn Rd. Aug. 25 on a call to check on someone.

The woman who called asked officers to check on the welfare of her daughter, 23-year-old Jacklynn Murphy and her ex-husband. The woman told offices that Murphy told her over the phone that she killed her father.

When officers arrived at a duplex off David O. Dodd, they saw possible blood on the floor, and the body of 53-year-old Gary Murphy inside. Murphy was then taken into custody.

After evidence was collected and the body taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy, Murphy was charged with first degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
