JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) – A 23-year-old teacher was arrested over the weekend after an officer found drugs in the vehicle he was in.

An incident report from the Jacksonville Police Department states that Kerry Eugene Evans, Jr. was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign in Jacksonville on Saturday. The officer used a K9 dog to search the vehicle and it advised of a "positive alert." Officers then found a plastic bag inside of a storage compartment on the driver's side door. The report states that the bag contained "a green leafy vegetable substance."

Evans is a teacher with the North Little Rock School District, according to the report. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and issued a citation for running a stop sign.
