NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The William F. Laman Public Library will be hosting its 3rd Harry Potter Quidditch Match. This event will be featuring the Hendrix College Quidditch team and will be played on the plaza of the Laman Library and is open to all ages.

Muggle Quidditch is a sport based on Quidditch, the fictional sport developed by British author J. K. Rowling in the Harry Potter series of novels. It is most popular amongst college students. The sport was created in 2005 at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. In Muggle Quidditch, there are seven players on each team, 3 chasers, 2 beaters, 1 keeper and 1 seeker. The game has been adapted for play on the ground, with game play confined to a playing field comparable in size to a hockey rink.

Hendrix College Quidditch aims to give all students the opportunity to be involved in a sport based on JK Rowling's Harry Potter series and to foster the International Quidditch Association's goals of creativity, community, and competition. It promotes an environment that encourages physical activity, teamwork, and love of literature while allowing students to connect with students from other colleges across the country and the world.
