LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – We all love happy endings, but two special guests that came to THV 11 Studios Saturday morning were all about creating happy beginnings by making it easier for average income families to adopt children.

Becky Barling Emerson and Bill Barling with Families Are Special Incorporated (FASI) told THV11 News that FASI has connections with agencies to help hopeful families in the matching process in addition to access to financial loans and other resources that make adoptions possible.

They are the only agency in Arkansas that has a loan program at two percent interest over the course of three years; when the adoption is finalized, the families will also qualify for a US Tax Credit for most, if not all of the cost of adoption.

FASI is holding a 10th annual BBQ Bash Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Indian Hills Baptist Church. All of the proceeds will go toward their cause by paying for internal costs and family loan programs.

Six area restaurants will donate BBQ, and Blue Bell Ice Cream will take care of dessert. In addition, there will be live and silent auctions.
