SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) – Searcy police say they have two Little Rock men in custody for allegedly breaking into vehicles in their area.

Police say just after midnight Aug. 4 they were called to The Ridge Apartments at 2001 Quality Drive about vehicle break-ins.

When officers arrived they saw a man walking away from a parked car towards a waiting SUV. When they approached, the suspect named Turod Jacobs, 21, ran, but he was later apprehended.

The waiting vehicle started to leave the complex during Jacobs' arrest, but other officers were able to stop it and arrested the driver, 27-year-old Kristopher Kalson. Police said they found a .9mm semi-auto pistol in Kalson's possession that was reported stolen out of Conway. Police said another pistol, a .45 caliber semi-auto pistol was found where officers initially approached Jacobs in the parking lot. This was also reported stolen out of Conway.

Both suspects were booked into the White County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Kalson faces charges of Possession of an Instrument of Crime (a class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons (a class D Felony), Breaking or Entering (a Class D Felony), Theft by Receiving (a class C Felony), & Theft of Property (a class A Misdemeanor).

Jacobs faces charges of Fleeing on Foot (a class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons (a class D Felony), Breaking or Entering (a Class D Felony), Theft by Receiving (a class C Felony), & Theft of Property (a class A Misdemeanor).
