SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) – A one-vehicle accident took out a power pole in Sherwood Friday morning.

According to the Sherwood Police Department (SPD), a driver lost control of their vehicle on Country Club Drive around 4:30 a.m. and ran into a power pole, causing electricity to go out in the area and temporarily closing the road.

SPD added that the driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown, but the injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

Some residents in the area said power was out for about an hour, but North Little Rock Electric said about about 100 more customers remain, and repairs could take a few more hours. The company said the collision originally affected around 1,398 customers.
