LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- When it comes to shopping for the perfect bra, turns out, size does matter. Experts say the wrong one could actually cause you physical problems. And not only will a properly fitted bra feel more comfortable, THV 11 found out it will make your clothes fit and look better.
There's a problem plaguing women across Arkansas and most don't even know it. It literally can be a pain in the back!
Rebecca Gorman with Dillard's is a certified bra consultant. She's fitted more than 600 women over the years and has dedicated her career to being.
According to Gorman, eight out of 10 women are in the wrong size. THV 11's Ashley Blackstone and Alyse Eady met a group of three everyday women who struggled with finding a comfortable bra.
Miki, Jody and Kay each had a free, professional bra fitting and each discovered she was wearing the wrong size.
Gorman wants ladies to know the three signs of an ill-fitting bra:
- You always wear your bra on the tightest hook - What that does is make it the next size smaller. The band is the most important part. In reality, you should be able to use the first clasp, the hook with the loosest fit.
- Your bra straps are too tight - That means they're giving too much support and adding strain which can lead to shoulder and back pains.
- You have bulges at the top or the sides of your bra – Remember, your cups should completely contain all of your breast tissue.
The solution to all of this is get fitted by a bra specialist. After learning their true sizes, all three of the women immediately bought new bras and mentioned the immediate confidence boost it gave them.
