LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Little Rock Fire Department and the Arkansas Foodbank has issued a challenge to local fire and city departments to help feed hungry families this summer.
Capt. Warren Robinson of the Little Rock Central Fire Station, which is a drop off site for the drive, has challenged each Little Rock fire station to donate 25 boxes of cereal, and each Little Rock city department to donate 10 boxes of cereal.
So far the challenge has been met by several departments:
- City Manager – 100 boxes
- City Manager assistant – 50 boxes
- Hot Tart – 300 boxes
- Fire Marshal – 100 boxes
- New Calvary Church – 500 promised boxes
Plus they will be collecting boxes of cereal June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kroger stores on Cantrell Road, Chenal Parkway, and Markham Street.
The "Stuff the Fire Truck" event Wednesday, June 25 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on 500 W. Markham. The fire stations and city departments will drop off their donations and then the donations will be brought to the food bank.
