UNDATED (KTHV) - From an act of kindness towards a school janitor to a man's creative music video in a deserted airport, there are plenty of positive stories from the past week that are definitely on the 'brighter side'.

Students surprised janitor with act of kindness

Students and staff at Anderson County High School in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, had a secret motive for a pep rally last Wednesday. They had spent many months collecting money to fund an overseas trip for the school janitor, Ricky Spaulding, whose son is in the Navy and is stationed in Italy, LEX 18 reported. When staff members found out that Spaulding and his wife had not seen their son in more than a year and have yet to meet their granddaughter, the high school decided to do something about it. Glass called Spaulding into the gym during a pep rally on the last day of the school year, claiming that there was a mess that needed cleaning. Then, Spaulding was presented with the money the school had worked to collect, totaling $1,900.

Wounded sea lion returns to wild

A young sea lion found severely wounded on a beach in Peru's capital was returned to his Pacific home Wednesday after six weeks of care by an animal advocacy group. The 1½-year-old male sea lion, nicknamed Ringo, was found by Peruvian members of the Organization for Research and Conversation of Aquatic Animals in April with serious injuries to its head and left eye. Members of the group suspected fisherman beat the animal. On Wednesday, members of the group carried Ringo to a coast guard boat, which delivered him to an island populated by dozens of sea lions. Ringo promptly jumped into the Pacific to join them.

Tiger cubs play with remote-controlled car

Zookeepers at California's Fresno Chaffee Zoo thought it would be fun to tease their new tiger cubs with a remote-controlled car! A cub's-eye-view camera on the toy car shows their cute, cuddly and curious faces up-close! These are Malayan tiger cubs found only in Malaysia. The zoo says just 500 of these endangered tigers are left in the world. Fresno Chaffee Zoo has four cubs in its exhibit, as part of a breeding program.

Stranded passenger creates hilarious music video

Being stuck an airport overnight when your flight has been delayed is never fun. Unless you're Richard Dunn that is. Dunn, who had agreed to postpone his Delta flight until the next morning in exchange for vouchers, didn't have enough time to head to a hotel so he took advantage of this downtime to shoot his very own music video at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport. The tune? Fittingly, Celine Dion's "All By Myself." With nothing but his iPhone, a roll of luggage tape, a wheel chair, and Final Cut Pro, Dunn was able to make video magic.
