LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A group of filmmakers crossing the country is making a stop in Arkansas talking to local churches.

The filmmakers are visiting 40 churches in 40 weeks along I-40 from California to North Carolina.

Filmmakers will be conducting interviews with local pastors and church members to find out what they believe is going well and what they perceive as obstacles to "effective ministry" and "healthy church".

They say the future of their research is to discover how pastors are succeeding or struggling at the confluence of Christianity and culture in mainstream America. Their goal is to raise awareness and challenge Christians to take personal responsibility for the poor reputation of the Church.

The film is slated to be released in 2015.
