LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Spurred by a recent groundswell of entrepreneurial activity in Arkansas, the Arkansas Secretary of State has partnered with the Information Network of Arkansas and created a website that helps first-time entrepreneurs find out how to open a business in the state.

DreamItDoItArkansas.com officially launched today with a feature that asks aspiring entrepreneurs five simple questions about their business. Based on the answers, the site presents a curated summary of the federal, state and local government requirements for opening a business, including licenses, permits, tax obligations and other documents. Finding and figuring out what forms are necessary has been a huge hurdle for many first-time entrepreneurs.

"I know firsthand that navigating layers of government can be frustrating," Secretary of State Mark Martin said. "Our goal with this website is to make the process easier for anyone who is thinking of starting a business in Arkansas. Our vision for DreamItDoItArkansas.com is to streamline interactions between all Arkansas businesses and government agencies."

The site's modern design and inspirational message to first-time entrepreneurs is a delightful contrast to traditional government websites. Bold colors, video, adaptive photography, single-page responsive layout, and social media features are wrapped in the motivating theme "Dream It Do It." The concept celebrates successful Arkansas small business owners and encourages site visitors to follow their dreams. The result is a stunning website that sounds like a mentor – someone a first-time entrepreneur would seek out for
advice when starting a business.

In the spirit of mentorship, Arkansas.gov is running a social media "Share Your Startup Advice" Photo Challenge from June 26 through July 9 to help promote the site launch. Arkansas entrepreneurs can write down their startup advice, snap a selfie with their words of wisdom, and post the photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #DreamItDoItArkansas for a chance to win an Arkansas Venture Center membership. Official details are available at DreamItDoItArkansas.com/PhotoChallenge.
