LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Five choreographers from around the country will travel to Little Rock for a week to create 4-6 minute piece of original choreography which will be performed for the VISIONS choreographic competition Aug. 23.
For the competition, a panel of judges, which includes the audience, will vote for their favorite work of choreography. The winning choreographer will be awarded a contract to complete a full length version of their work to be performed as part of the Ballet Arkansas spring dance concert, Who Cares? April 17-19 at The Arkansas Repertory Theater in Little Rock.
The 2014 VISIONS choreographers are Sayoko Knode, Jerry Opdenaker, Brandon Tagland, Christ Stuart, and Hilary Wolfley. The guest judges are Ballet West Artistic Director Adam Sklute, UALR Artist in Residence Rhythm McCarthy, and The Tidwell Project Artistic Director Michael Tidwell.
