BERKELEY, Calif. – The No. 24 Arkansas baseball team (8-5) was defeated by Cal (10-5) in both games of a Sunday doubleheader at Evans Diamond on the campus of the University of California on the final day of the Cal Baseball Classic.

The Golden Bears took game one 4-3 and game two 2-1. Trailing 3-1 in the seventh inning of game one, Arkansas appeared to have scored a run when Andrew Benintendi slid into second to break up a double play, but he was called for runner's interference to end the inning. After another Cal run pushed the lead to three, Eric Fisher blasted a two-run home run to right field in the eighth inning to provide the final margin. Starting pitcher Chris Oliver tied his career-long outing of 6.0 innings pitched and struck out four.

Game two featured an outstanding pitching performance from Trey Killian, who was making his second start of the season. Killian tied his career-high with 7.0 innings pitched, allowed one earned run and scattered five hits with one strikeout while throwing just 88 pitches. Arkansas tied the game 1-1 in the top of the eighth, but Cal scored the winning run on an error during a rundown between third base and home plate with one out in the bottom of the inning.

Krisjon Wilkerson and Brian Anderson each recorded three hits between the two games to pace the Razorback offense. Anderson added a run scored, and Fisher contributed two RBI with McAfee adding one.

Arkansas continues its stretch of seven consecutive games away from Baum Stadium when it opens the SEC schedule Friday-Sunday at Florida. Game times are set for 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon Sunday.
