MOBILE, Ala. (A-State) – Arkansas State senior infielder Zach Maggio and junior pitcher Chandler Hawkins were named to the 2014 Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament team, which was announced at the conclusion of Sunday's championship game at Stanky Field on the University of South Alabama campus.

Maggio was the Red Wolves' best hitter during the tournament, turning in a .375 batting average with six runs scored, four RBIs and two doubles. He had a hit and an RBI in each of the Red Wolves' victories and finished second in the tournament in runs scored, doubles and fifth in RBIs and runs scored.

In games against Troy and UT-Arlington he led off with a hit and came around to score later in the inning to give A-State an early advantage in both games. The senior finished the season with a career-high .312 batting average with 51 runs scored, 64 hits and 22 RBIs.

Hawkins had the only complete-game shutout of the tournament in A-State's 12-0 run-rule victory over Troy on Friday. The left-hander needed just 66 pitches to hold the Trojans to three hits and two walks, while the Red Wolves' offense provided plenty of run support. Hawkins faced just three batters over the minimum and became the first A-State pitcher to toss a complete game in the SBC Tournament since 2013.

Arkansas State went 2-2 in the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship and is the only team to have won at least two games in the tournament in each of the last five years.
