CHICAGO (Univ. of Ark.) – Arkansas senior linebacker Braylon Mitchell has been named to the 30th annual Butkus Award Watch List, which included 51 candidates and honors the retired professional jersey of Dick Butkus, who is regarded by NFL Films as the best defensive player in football history.
Semi-finalists will be named Oct.27, finalists Nov. 24, and the will be notified on or before Dec. 9. Mitchell has played in 28 games for the Razorback and made eight starts in 2013. A year ago, he recorded 77 tackles, including a career-high 12 vs. No. 8 Auburn, a total that included a career-high tying seven solo stops.
