FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Univ. of Ark.) -- The University of Arkansas football team took a break from their two-a-day practice schedule as they returned to the single practice format on Tuesday afternoon.

Third down was the emphasis of practice No. 10 of fall camp, as both the offensive worked on converting third down in a number of different situations, while the defense worked on preventing third down conversions.

Venue: Outdoor Practice Fields

Format: Full Pads

Highlights: Brandon Allen had a solid day of practice in the 11-on-11 drills, as the junior quarterback got in good rhythm with the entire first team receiving core … Allen stood tall in the pocket as it began to collapse, and connected with sophomore tight end Hunter Henry, who made a leaping grab over a defender, to covert a third-and-long situation … Allen later showed off his foot speed, by converting a 3rd-and-8 on a scramble … Sophomore running back Alex Collins put together a pair of spectacular runs on the day, as he was able to run past the defense on a misdirection draw play early in the 11-on-11 drill, and would later cut through the trenches to pick up a first down on a third-and-long situation … Fellow sophomore Korliss Williams continued to run hard in fall camp, as he was able to find a hole set by the offensive line to breakaway for what would have been a touchdown.

Quote of the Day: "There's no question he's an important piece of our defense. Guys look to him, listen to him and he provides a great example. We're certainly glad we have him here and we're expecting great things." Defensive coordinator Robb Smith (@CoachSmithUA) on Trey Flowers (@III_Flowers)

Defensive end Trey Flowers on redshirt freshman DE Tevin Beanum (@TevinBv80): "He's young so he has to mature, as far as focusing. He's very talented, you can tell him things once and he's really eager to learn, so that's the most important thing. He's come a long way."

Josh Williams (@Josh954Williams) on his choice to come to Arkansas: "I just wanted to help the team out. Coach Pittman came down to Dodge City and told me how the depth was thin on linebackers, so I took the chance. I do have another year of JuCo left, but I'd rather have two years at a division one school than three years at a JuCo."

Randy Shannon (@RLS2294) on Josh Williams: "He's doing an unbelievable job right now. He's still a little behind because he wasn't here during the spring, but today I think was probably the best practice that he's had in fall camp. He started off a little rugged at first, but he's coming along."
