FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Univ. of Ark.) – Continuing preparations for next Saturday's season-opener, the University of Arkansas football team capped fall camp Friday afternoon with 60-play scripted scrimmage inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
The full-team, closed scrimmage offered an opportunity for the players to go through pregame warmups as they will do during the season. The scrimmage also gave a chance to work on in-game protocol, including coaches receiving play calls via headset, and players signaling calls onto the field.
Much of the play calls during the scrimmage were based around situational plays and allowed the players to focus on mental repetitions.
Venue: Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium
Format: Full pads
Highlights: With solid protection from his offensive line, junior quarterback Brandon Allen completed a 40-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Keon Hatcher … Senior specialist Sam Irwin-Hill showed his strong leg, booting kickoffs deep into the end zone and unleashing some long punts … Senior kicker John Henson nailed a 56-yard field goal with room to spare.
