Did a weekend Twitter binge blasting fellow employees cost a PayPal exec his job?

On Friday night, PayPal global strategist Rakesh Agrawal went on a tirade, slamming company executives in a series of tweets. The comments have since been deleted, but Valleywag has a roundup of the highlights.

In a subsequent tweet, Agrawal says his comments were not meant for public view. "Last night, I was using a new phone that I bought because I wanted to test experiences on android," reads a tweet from Agrawal. "Those messages were meant for a colleague."

On Saturday, PayPal responded on Twitter saying Agrawal was no longer with the company. "Treat everyone with respect," said the company. "No excuses. PayPal has zero tolerance."

The wording and timing of PayPal's tweet suggests Agrawal may have been fired. However, Agrawal disputes claims he was fired, saying on Twitter he resigned before the messages were posted.
