UAMS opens first adult neurofibromatosis clinic in U.S.

UAMS will open the first clinic in the country that will treat adults with neurofibromatosis, a group of rare genetic disorders.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — UAMS and the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) announced the opening of the first CTF-sponsored clinic in the country that will treat adults with neurofibromatosis, a group of rare genetic disorders that affects 2.5 million people worldwide. 

The Children’s Tumor Foundation will present UAMS with a check to fund the clinic for the first two years.

The clinic is set to hold a grand opening at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30 at UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Lobby, first floor, located at 449 Jack Stephens Drive in Little Rock.

Parking will be available along the circle in front of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and Parking Deck 3.
