Winnie Wright is a multimedia journalist and weekend morning anchor for THV11 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Winnie joined the THV11 team in October of 2015 as a reporter. In 2017, she was named anchor of THV11 This Morning Saturday. Winnie grew up in Rome, Georgia, a beautiful suburb in the Appalachian Foothills. She joins THV11 from Tallahassee, Florida where she served as the South Georgia Bureau Chief.

In 2012, Winnie graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Alabama with a double-major in Telecommunications and Film and also Political Science.

While attending UA, Winnie had the opportunity to intern as a reporter at WVUA in Tuscaloosa and also spent a summer abroad interning for the Lord Mayor of Dublin in Ireland. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, The Golden Key International Honour Society, and the Radio Television Digital News Association.

Since coming to central Arkansas, Winnie has covered many important stories that impact Arkansans, including: the controversial execution of four inmates at the Arkansas Department of Corrections, the 2016 presidential and state campaign trail, the efforts of Little Rock parents and alumni to prevent the closure of four of the city’s majority-minority schools, expanding gun legislation in Arkansas, Little Rock’s rising murder rate, and the Power Ultra Lounge Mass Shooting. Winnie most enjoys telling stories about crime, politics, justice, pets, and veterans.

In her spare time, she can typically be found exploring central Arkansas via kayak and hiking boot, whipping up something in the kitchen, or cheering on The Crimson Tide.
