On Tuesday, Feb. 20, the village hall received a phone call from a fan who yelled, "Wakanda forever," a battle cry from the movie.

“We had a guy call and [he] was shouting that. I was a little confused,” Alise Homola, who works at the village hall told the Chicago Sun Times.

“He was joking around about it,’’ she said. “He just said that ‘I was searching the Wakanda from the movie, and your village came up, so I thought I’d call you and give you a hard time.’ ”

According to the town's official website, the city got its name from an Indian Chief who is believed to be buried "somewhere on the southern bank of Bangs Lake, back of the Town Hall." The website says the word translated from its native tongue means "Spirit Water."
