Sasha Sander is a producer for THV11 This Morning and multimedia journalist at THV11 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She specializes in mobile journalism on all things trending on both broadcast and digital.
Sasha joined the THV11 team in July 2017 and came to Little Rock from KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. There she worked as an MMJ reporter and producer while attending school at the University of Missouri (Mizzou).
Sasha attended Mizzou on a full gymnastics scholarship where she earned all-SEC athletic honors and was a multiple Scholastic All-American. After her gymnastics career, where she was the athlete, she switched gears working as a sports analyst broadcasting on SEC Network and ESPN.
With a Japanese background, Sasha also hosts an international charity event in Japan each year, bringing awareness and raising money for the Fukushima prefecture where a tsunami and earthquake caused a nuclear disaster in 2011. Last year (2017) she helped the event raise $30M to fund area rebuilding efforts.
Her passion for journalism comes from her love for nostalgic memories and photography. Being able to capture people’s favorite life moments for them to look back upon is what excites her most.
One of her many accomplishments includes transforming the way people experience the news through a social media segment called the Morning Minute. In this segment, which you can find on THV11’s Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram pages, she condenses the news into a single minute that brings you the top trending and most talked about stories that you’ll want to tell your friends!
When she is not in the newsroom, Sasha enjoys food, travel and adventure. You’ll most likely find her at a hipster coffee shop or maybe taking a hike. If you see her, be sure to say “Hi!” She’s always ready to meet new faces.
