MALVERN, Ark. (KTHV) - Crowds are rushing to Malvern. also known as the brick capital of the world, this weekend for their 38th annual Brickfest event.
The Malvern City Park will be full of family-friendly activities, music and vendors June 22 and 23 to celebrate the town's rich history in the brickmaking industry.
According the the Malvern Brickfest website, the festival commemorates the importance of bricks to the history of Malvern and Hot Springs, who have played a leading role in the area's economic development since 1887.
A "Brick"-B-Que rib cook-off, watermelon eating contest and live music are only a few of the festival's events.
