Disney’s live-action Aladdin film is just months away, and while a teaser trailer was released several weeks ago, we hadn't gotten a good look at the cast. Until now.

Entertainment Weekly tweeted Wednesday morning that it had the “splendid first look at the reimagined classic.”

But not everyone is happy about the appearance of Will Smith’s Genie character.

“Kill it with fire :P” responded one Twitter user.

“2018 has officially taken enough from me,” tweeted another.

Over on Reddit, Mal_Funk_Shun asked if we had gone back to the 1990’s. But some, like bracake, tried to defend it: “If you focus on just one person it's not so bad. Just don't look at the whole thing.”

The live-action film dropped its first teaser trailer in October. The teaser set ups the menace Aladdin (Mena Massoud) faces finding the lamp, which grants wishes courtesy of Genie. A menacing voice refers to the street-wise character as "a diamond in the rough" before showing him about to take hold of the lamp.

"Power Rangers" star Naomi Scott has the coveted role of Princess Jasmine.

The live-action version hits theaters May 24, 2019.
