Chadwick Boseman is too good for mediocre as heck 21 Bridges

21 Bridges is a movie you've seen before just dressed in different clothes. And that sucks because Chadwick Boseman crushes it in the lead role.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Good cops, bad cops, complicated thieves, gun shooting, running. These are all things that are in every cop drama movie that has ever existed. 21 Bridges is no different, but no matter how they dress it up, the movie is just mediocre.

Starring Chadwick Boseman as Andre, the film follows his journey as he tries to catch some cop killers who have stolen a bunch of cocaine...but also leave behind a lot of cocaine.

From there, it's your standard "the cops are corrupt and a detective has to battle both the suspects and the police to get the job done."

And it's a bummer the movie doesn't have more to it. Boseman shines as a police detective and if the movie was better we'd probably get a sequel to see his character get some John Wick style sequel.

The only saving grace of this movie is that it tries to capture the feel of the 1970s cop drama, with wonderfully scored music. The problem though is that the movie is too pretty. It needed to be grittier or nastier than the beautifully shot film we got.

This ain't no Serpico, folks.

Oh well, at least we'll see Boseman again as Black Panther in the future. We just need Boseman in more movies. That's all we ask.
