Joel Edgerton to screen Boy Erased at Arkansas Cinema Society's FILMLAND this August

Joel Edgerton will screen his film, Boy Erased, which is based on a memoir from Arkansas native Garrad Conley.

This year's FILMLAND for Arkansas Cinema Society just keeps getting bigger and better!

ACS announced that Joel Edgerton is bringing Boy Erased, a film based on a memoir from Arkansas native Garrad Conley.

The film, which stars Lucas Hedges, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, and Joel Edgerton, follows a young man's journey to a gay conversion therapy camp at the insistence of his parents.

Our own Getting Reel movie review team saw the film and said Boy Erased is an emotional film that relies heavily on great acting and will hopefully "open more eyes to the dangers" of gay conversion therapy.

This year's FILMLAND lineup will also include Toy Story 4, Free Solo, episodes of Stranger Things and a new documentary about former Governor Mike Beebe.
