Beautiful message of peace, togetherness being spread through song

The 170 piece group tour is all about coming together, to make stronger communities.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - For nearly four decades, the Turtle Creek Chorale has been spreading music with a message. This summer, the Texas-based group is taking their tunes on the road with the “Friendship Tour,” and they made a stop in Little Rock.

Friday night, the 170 piece group performed at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Little Rock. Member Jamie Rawsom says the tour is all about coming together, to make stronger communities.

“We’re not trying to convert anyone’s politics, we’re not trying to convert anyone’s other principles, we’re just trying to show that we can be friends together, we can be productive together, and we can be a community together,” he said.

“The tour right now is very timely, what we sing about is very timely,” member Marcus McNeal said.

“One thing that music has always done through the course of history is its brought people together. That’s one thing that I really love about our music is that we don’t only sing beautiful music, but we sing beautiful music with a message,” McNeal said.

The group performed twice in Little Rock on Saturday, June 23. Performances are at 10 a.m at the Clinton Presidential Center and 7 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church. featuring the Arkansas-based group the River City Men's Chorus.
