RISON, Ark. — Five things we discovered at Pioneer Village in Rison.

1.) Six historic buildings moved to the old fairgrounds at 200 Yaney Street.

2.) The Mercantile is open for customers! It's full of nostalgic merchandise like glass coke bottles, shoes, and bird houses.

3.) The city of Rison owns the Pioneer Village property and rents the space for events.

4.) One of the old buildings is a former Post Office. It's still under renovations and will hopefully be open to tourists soon.

5.) The organizers of Pioneer Village have a goal to create a full-service wedding venue. It would include a church, reception hall as well as a bed & breakfast.

You can visit the Pioneer Village Facebook page here. Call (870) 325-6412 before visiting.
