The Capital Hotel opens its doors for countless weddings, parties and events during the holidays. Nearly every surface is elaborately decorated by Tipton & Hurst. The centerpiece is a 32-foot live tree that was specially plucked from a mountain in Oregon and quickly transported to Little Rock. This year, the tree is adorned with hundreds of glass ornaments and more than 25,000 lights. It took three days for a large crew of Tipton & Hurst employees to erect and decorate the tree.
The Tipton & Hurst staff began decorating for the Capital Hotel decades ago and now thinks of the massive job as a tradition. “This is the premiere hotel and we’re hopefully the premiere holiday decorator and it’s just a lot of fun,” Tipton & Hurst President Howard Hurst said. The floral company also decorated the exterior of the building by hanging 15 large wreaths and draping locally-sourced garland over the doors.
