Sunday, June 24, marked a day of celebration for the LGBTQ community in central Arkansas as hundreds gathered for a block party in North Little Rock's Argenta District.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Sunday, June 24, marked a day of celebration for the LGBTQ community in central Arkansas as hundreds gathered for a block party in North Little Rock’s Argenta District.

“Today, we have our first annual ‘Beers and Queers Argenta Pride Block Party’ going on here.”

Kaleidoscope, Argenta Arts District and Flyway Brewing hosted the event celebrating National Pride Month.

Live music, food trucks, craft beer and local vendors added to the celebration.

“This provides a very important opportunity for the LGBT community – my community – to come out and be able to meet each other, to be able to network with each other especially in this neighborhood of Argenta which is this very inclusive neighborhood,” Kaleidoscope Executive Director Tony Taylor said.

Taylor, who helped organize the party, said turnout was better than expected.

Central Arkansas Pride will host 2018 Little Rock Pride Fest on Oct. 20.
