POTTSVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) – Big news, y’all! Drake Maness went in for surgery on Friday morning to clear his airway.

If you’ll recall, Drake currently has a Trach in. Doctors in Baltimore previously went in to try to clear his airway and remove the scar tissue that has built up. But they were unable to do so at the time.

Once the airway is clear he can begin the process of getting the Trach out.

The 17-year-old was expected to never walk again after a swimming accident in June 2018 left him instantly paralyzed. But it's his perseverance and passion that kept him fighting and pushing through to become a walking miracle.
