Celebrating in Searcy | 'Small Town Revolution' wraps filming

On the first official day of summer, Searcy celebrates the end of a different season and the beginning of what's to come.

SEARCY, Ark. — On the first official day of summer, hundreds braved the heat in Downtown Searcy to celebrate the end of a different season and the beginning of what's to come.

Friday, June 21 marked the end of filming for season four of 'Small Business Revolution.'

"You guys have started a spark in this community I have never witnessed before," Searcy Mayor Kyle Osborne said to the show's hosts. "We also know it's our responsibility to carry this torch forward."

Searcy beat out thousands of other communities that applied for a spot on the show produced by Deluxe Corporation.

"The entire mission behind 'Small Business Revolution' is to inspire people to understand the importance of supporting the small businesses within our communities," said Amanda Brinkman, chief brand officer for Deluxe.

Brinkman and Ty Pennington host the show, which over the last four months, has funded and documented six business makeovers in Searcy.

"You immediately can tell how these are family businesses and how the business that succeeds now will be handed down to the next generation," said Pennington.

When the show premieres this fall, Brinkman says viewers will see stories about the small businesses, but even more so, stories about the heart and soul of a community.

Zion Climbing Center was selected for season four. Executive Director of Zion, Sean Hudkins, says the non-profit received a new website and other marketing help.

"It's been absolutely incredible," said Hudkins. "We started 14 years ago and some of the dreams, some of the stuff we had written down, we're seeing take place now. We're grateful to have gone through the process."

It's a process Hudkins and many others are confident will have long-term benefits for the entire community.

"We're looking forward to seeing how they really use this and drive themselves into the future," said Brinkman.

You can watch Searcy make it big on season four of "Small Business Revolution" when it launches October 8. The show will stream on Hulu and smallbusinessrevolution.org.
