Customer survey aims to help Little Rock businesses

The Downtown Little Rock Partnership wants to know what exactly you feel comfortable doing during the pandemic.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark — The Downtown Little Rock Partnership wants to know what you feel comfortable doing during the pandemic.

So, what are you comfortable with?

It’s a simple question with complex answers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Downtown Little Rock Partnership wants your response.

“We’re just trying to get creative and think of what we can do that’s still safe and within the right protocols, but we also want people to be interested in what we might be trying to plan,” Director of Communications Ellen Lampe said.

Tuesday, the group launched a survey with local businesses and the Little Rock economy in mind. They’ve already gotten hundreds of responses, but need a lot more to get a full picture.

“So, questions kind of about general day-to-day life right now, but also questions about how interested are you in watching a virtual event? How interested would you be in attending a drive-thru event where you never leave your car? Different things like that to try and gauge what people want to see right now,” Lampe said.

Owner of The Root Café and Mockingbird Bar and Tacos, Jack Sundell, looks forward to the results.

“It’ll be exciting to hear from customers, what experiences they’re looking for, or what things they feel safe doing and what things maybe they aren’t ready to do. That’ll be really good information,” Sundell said.

After operating curbside for four months, he said that fresh feedback is needed.

“Communication has gotten a lot more difficult during the pandemic. Usually as a storefront business, we rely on face-to-face interaction with customers to gauge their interest and to figure out what they want,” Sundell said.

Owner of The Green Corner Store, Shelley Green, is making changes to fit customer needs.

“We have offered more basic things for our customers and added on services. We opened an online eCommerce store this week,” Green said.

Green hopes customers will share their ideas so clients and businesses can help each other.

“We will shop by phone, on Facetime. So, we hope that people will think about those different options and let us know what they’re looking for,” Green said

The survey will be up indefinitely, and you can find it by clicking here.
