North Little Rock residents to receive new trash containers

The City of North Little Rock will begin using new trash containers and side-loading sanitation trucks beginning on Monday, December 12.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The City of North Little Rock will begin using new trash containers and side-loading sanitation trucks starting Monday, December 12.

North Little Rock residents have already begun receiving their new containers and will continue to receive them throughout the week.

To prepare for the transition, sanitation workers have been trained on the use of the new side-loading trucks and containers.

Sanitation workers will be putting stickers on all existing trash containers this week for residents that would like their old containers removed.

When residents check the box on the sticker shown below, the city will pick up the old trash cans.

“We are pleased to provide this service, free to all single-family residents in our city. All sanitation department workers will keep their job through this process and will be utilized in the future,” shared Mayor Terry Hartwick.

Remember the following important steps when putting out your garbage:

  • Place the container on a flat surface, close to the street.
  • Place the container at least three feet away from anything.
  • Place the opening of the container toward the street.
  • Place all trash inside the container, loose or bagged.

If you have not received a new container by Monday, December 12, receive a damaged container, or would like an additional container sometime in 2023, please contact the North Little Rock Sanitation Department at (501) 906-6327.
