18-year-old arrested in connection to shooting of father, son at Lily Ruth Court

Benton Police Department arrested 18-year-old Tommy Woodfork III of Malvern on Sunday, May 19, in connection with the shooting.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — A man has been arrested one week after the shooting of a father and son in Hot Springs.

Benton Police Department arrested 18-year-old Tommy Woodfork III of Malvern on Sunday, May 19, in connection with the shooting. He was then transported to Hot Springs to face charges of Murder in the First Degree, Terroristic Act, and Battery in the First Degree. 

On Sunday, May 12, at 11:47 p.m., officers with the Hot Springs Police Department responded to Lily Ruth Court in reference to a shots-fired call.

Upon arrival, officers located two gunshot victims, 50-year-old Donald King and 23-year-old Donyell King, both of Hot Springs. 

Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victims are father and son.

Donyell King was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Donald King was listed in serious condition at the time.

Woodfork is currently being held in the Garland County Detention Center on zero bond.
